Vacant Home Destroyed By Fire

Paris, Tenn.—A vacant home at 407 Jones Street in Paris was destroyed by an early morning fire.
Paris Firefighters were called to the structure fire a few minutes after midnight. Upon arrival, they found flames visible from the front and the roof. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and stayed on the scene until 1:47 a.m.
The cause is undetermined.
The structure is owned by B & R Properties and estimated loss was $25,000.
–The fire department also was called to the Dana Corporation parking lot at 100 Plumley Drive Tuesday night to extinguish a car fire. The car, a 2003 Ford Taurus, was destroyed by the blaze. Firefighters said the fire was visible when they pulled into the lot.
The car is owned by Colt Ragsdale of Camden and the cause is undetermined.
–Paris firefighters also were called to the WTPR offices on Brewer Street this morning when an odor was detected that smelled like something burning. After a complete search of the building, the fire department said they could find nothing other than a possible central heat malfunction.
