UC Police Nab Savannah Couple For Auto Theft

Union City, Tenn.—A homeless couple from Savannah was arrested Tuesday in Union City for stealing a vehicle from Savannah.
Arrested were James Harville, age 44, and Regina Westenhoefer, age 40, both listed as homeless.
In the 900 block of W. Reelfoot Ave., officers spotted a  green Hyundai that was listed as stolen on NCIC. Once in the 1300 block of S. Home St., officers conducted a stop on the vehicle and ordered the pair out of the car at gun point.
Harville told one officer that he paid the owner to borrow the vehicle and Westnhoefer told another officer they gave the owner two grams of meth to use it.
Investigator Barker of the Savannah Police said the two were suspects in the theft of the car from the Savannah Walmart.
Both Harville and Westenhoefer are charged with theft over $1,000 and Harville also is charged with his third offense of driving on a revoked license.
