Union City, Tenn.—A Gleason woman was arrested on drug charges and her car seized after crystal meth was found in her car during a traffic stop Saturday in Union City.
Tracy Lynn Berry, age 48, of 850 Green Rd., was charged with possession of crystal meth with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was stopped for a light violation on the 1700 block on W. Reelfoot Ave.
Officers informed Berry that her rear passenger brake light was not working and she produced her license. When officers told her they were performing a check on her license, they saw a small clear bag of crystal meth fall out of a corner bag and saw a spoon between her legs that she was attempting to conceal.
Officers told Berry to exit the car and not to touch the drugs. Once out of the car, Berry asked officers what they were doing and they informed her they saw the drugs she was attempting to hide. Berry said she did not have any drugs in the car and officers informed her the car would be searched because they could see the drugs in plain view.
Berry then said she did have more drugs inside the car and that it was inside her purse. Officers removed a small glass jar containing two separate clear bags of crystal meth which weighed 16.45 grams. Also found were digital scales, several empty bags, and a glass pipe.
According to the police report, Berry admitted she uses meth and sells it, too. Her car, a Chevy Impala, also was seized.
