Calvert City, Ky.—The McDonald’s Restaurant in Calvert City was totally destroyed by fire this morning.
The Calvert City Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by several area departments as a huge blaze shot through the roof of the restaurant during the mid-morning lunch rush. All employees and patrons were evacuated from the building and no one was reported injured.
Workmen reportedly had been working on the heating unit on the roof immediately before the fire started.
The blaze was visible for miles.
