McKenzie, Tenn.—Work on the new Dollar Tree store in McKenzie is expected to be completed by February.
That was the word received by the McKenzie Municipal Regional Planning Commission at its December meeting. The new store is located at the intersection of Oak and Highland Streets.
Some construction has already begun, with original plans calling for it to be a Family Dollar store. Those plans were scrapped, however, and both Dollar Tree and Dollar General made bids for the property, with Dollar Tree ultimately chosen.
The original building permit expired and city officials required enhancements be added to the exterior of the building before the new permit was issued.
