Paris, Tenn.—A Christmas Eve fire destroyed a house trailer in rural Paris this morning.

Paris firefighters were called to 1485 Bob White Lane around 9:30 a.m. Sunday on a report of a structure fire. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke and moderate flames coming from the front door and window of the home.

The occupant, Kenneth Boyd, was standing outside and told the firemen no one else was inside.

Firefighters initiated an interior attack and found heavy fire in the living room and hallway, extending into the kitchen.

Boyd told firefighters he was awakened by a popping sound from the hallway and when he opened the bedroom door, he found the hallway on fire.

According to the report, firemen found several extension cords in the hallway with multiple splitters feeding two space heaters, a fan and electronics.

Losses are estimated at $25,000 for the property and $5,000 for the contents. The home is owned by Mary Sue Boyd of Antioch, Tenn.
