Union City, Tenn.—A Union City woman was transported to the hospital with chest pains caused when the airbag deployed during an accident. She also was cited by Union City Police.
Lea Ann Florey, age 22, was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital by ambulance after the accident. UC Police also cited her for following too close.
According to the report, Hunter Gierling, age 31, of Martin, was driving his pickup northbound in the 600 block of South First Street and stopped at the intersection with West Florida Ave. Florey was following behind him and did not stop her minivan in time, crashing her vehicle into his. According to the police, functional damage was caused to Florey’s vehicle and it was towed from the scene, while Gierling’s truck received only minor damage.
