Appellate Court Affirms Guy Biggs’ Sentencing

Paris, Tenn.– The five-year prison sentence of a former Henry County man was affirmed this week by the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals.

In March of 2015, Guy Len Biggs was convicted of attempted second-degree murder.  He was later indicted on charges of aggravated perjury and fabricating evidence in conjunction with the attempted murder case.  Biggs pleaded guilty to the aggravated perjury and fabricating evidence charges.

Following a sentencing hearing on those charges, Biggs was sentenced to five years by Henry County Circuit Court Judge Donald Parish.
Judge Parish ordered the sentences be served consecutively to a twelve-year sentence he had imposed on the attempted second degree murder conviction.
Represented by Attorney Ben Dempsey, Biggs challenged the decision to serve the sentences consecutively. Attorney Dempsey has offices in Paris and Carroll County.
The Court of Criminal Appeals issued a unanimous ruling supporting Judge Parish’ ruling that the sentences be served consecutively.
