Paris, Tenn.—Two hundred and five fifth graders were graduated Tuesday from the DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program at a ceremony held at KPAC in Paris.
The students are taught by Paris Police Sgt. Jeramye Whitaker and Officer Jordan Klutts. After seven years, Sgt. Whitaker will be stepping down from the DARE program and will be replaced by Patrolman Amber Roaten, who completed the intensive DARE training this month.
Guest speaker this year was Henry County High School Senior Nia Russell.
D.A.R.E. essay winners were Ayvah Norwood and Andrew Green.
