Paris, Tenn.—Seven new business licenses were issued by the city of Paris in October which includes a new convenience store and gas station on the west side of Paris, photography shop, décor shop and new mobile food truck.
The new businesses are: 54 Fuel Mart, Paris Tire & Auto Service, Perdelwitz Photography, Heather’s Street Food, Clean Queens, Sweet Vidalia’s (décor); Steve’s New and Used Tire Shop
At Thursday night’s city commission meeting, Finance Director Traci Pillow said retail sales were up for the third month in a row for this fiscal year.  The month of September showed an increase of almost 4% and an increase of almost 6% for the fiscal year to date.
Expenditures exceeded revenues in the General Fund for the month of October.
The city has mailed over 6,000 property tax statements and collected about 11% of the total amount billed.  The city collects the majority of payments during the months of December & February.
