Paris, Tenn.—Funeral services for Henry County Commissioner Bobby Freeman will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home, with County Mayor Brent Greer and Rev. Carol Wade officiating.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, and after 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are the Henry County Commissioners and all members of the Henry School Class of 1956.
Freeman, age 80, died at his residence Tuesday.
Freeman had been a County Commissioner since 1975 and the current CEO of Sally Lane’s Candy Farm. He had served on numerous boards in the community and was an elder of the First Presbyterian Church.
He was a 1956 graduate of Henry High School and had worked at the former Golden Peacock cosmetics’ plant and had worked and retired from Emerson Electric Co. He was a Mason for over 50 years and a member of the Al Chymia Shrine. He was past president of the Paris Country Club and was a former member of the Tennessee Army National Guard.
He was born in the Gum Springs community July 19, 1937, and is survived by his wife Shelby Murray Freeman, who he married in 1956. Other survivors are his daughter Pam Rockwell and son Rob Freeman, both of Paris; sisters Margaret Ann Speight, South Fulton; brothers Jerry of Texas and Danny of Paris, sister-in-law Helen Freeman, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
