Mayfield, Ky.—Graves County Sheriff’s deputies were able to identify a ‘John Doe’ found lying unconscious in the middle of the road on KY 564 through his tattoos posted on Facebook.
Deputies said the man has been identified and more information will follow after all family members have been notified.
At approximately 10:10 PM Monday night, deputies responded to KY 564 for a white male dressed in a black coat walking in the middle of the roadway.
While a Deputy was enroute, a second call was received stating that the subject was screaming in the middle of the road walking South on KY 564 just past Burnett’s Chapel Road.
A third call was then received stating that the subject was possibly involved in a motorcycle collision and was now lying in the middle of the road, unconscious, but was breathing.
When the deputy arrived, he located the male lying on his back with multiple injuries. Upon the arrival of Mayfield/Graves County EMS, he was stabilized and was then airlifted to Deaconness Hospital in Evansville, Ind. The victim had no form of identification on his person and was being listed as a John Doe until his true identity could be discovered.
The Graves Co. Sheriff’s Office posted photos of the man’s tattoos on its Facebook page, asking the public for help in identification.
The Graves County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Mayfield/Graves County EMS, Air Evac and the Kentucky State Police.
