Buchanan, Tenn.—The victim of a motorcycle accident this afternoon in the Buchanan area has died en route to receiving treatment for his injuries, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the accident and has not yet identified the victim.
The Paris Landing Fire Department, Henry County EMS and Henry County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 1955 Rabbit Creek Rd. on a report of a motorcycle accident with injuries.
According to Paris Landing Fire Department Chief Reggie Coles, it appeared the unidentified male driver lost control in a curve and ran off the road, striking a utility pole. He was then thrown from the motorcycle.
The victim was taken by ambulance to meet a helicopter for possible transfer to Vanderbilt with severe critical injuries.
As of 4:31 p.m., the THP trooper was still at the scene of the accident and the THP report had not been released.
