Murray, KY– Scott H. Swalls, the former General Manager at Froggy 103 radio in Murray, has been sentenced to 6 months incarceration in the Calloway County Jail for embezzlement charges followed by five (5) years shock probation. He reports to jail December 1, 2017.
Swalls pleaded guilty to three (3) counts of criminal actions including, Theft by Unlawful Taking, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Forgery on June 20th of this year.
He was facing up to 5 years each on two of his counts and 1 year on the other. After entering his guilty plea, the plaintiff in the case, Forever Communications, the parent company of Froggy 103, agreed to a bench hearing for sentencing and restitution.
Swalls has also been ordered to pay restitution of $50,000 to Forever Communications upon his release from jail. Forever Communications may be seeking a civil suit against Swalls upon his release for further monetary restitution and damages.
This has been an ongoing case since July of 2015 and the Plaintiffs, Forever Communications, are satisfied that justice has finally been served. The ownership, management and staff and can now move forward continuing to rebuild not only their reputation, which was tarnished by Swalls, but their commitment to be an asset to companies and communities throughout their entire listening area.
