Cookeville, Tenn.—The Union City Golden Tornadoes are bringing home another gold football following their second overtime victory over Tyner to win the Class 2A State Championship today.
Final score: Union City 27, Tyner Academy 21.
It was a hard-fought battle, with both teams trading scores, but it was Union City’s Braxton Waddell scoring the game-winning touchdown in second overtime after UC’s Andrew Easley had intercepted a Tyner pass that clinched the game for the Tornadoes.
