Paris, Tenn.–Santa rolls in for the Christmas Festival in Downtown Paris on Saturday, December 9, and he’s bringing a sleigh load of friends. The Downtown Christmas Festival runs from 3-5 p.m. around the court square and will featurev live animals, trackless train rides, crafts, stories and tasty treats.
Stores will be open for shopping while the people from the REAL Hope Center will have games for children, Youth Villages will have a Christmas golf game, and 4 H will make a unique hand print Santa and yarn Christmas trees, as well as snowmen and reindeer Christmas ornaments. Reindeer goats also will be on hand around Santa’s house to visit with the children.
There will be a trackless train ride. For those who need a break from the chilly weather, one of Santa’s favorite fellows, Monroe Robbins, will be reading Christmas stories inside The Wimberley Agency at 124 W. Washington Street as well as serving free hot chocolate from 3 to 5. The Inman Youth Orchestra will also be performing during the Festival.
The Christmas Sketch Crawl will be led by Ann Stapp from 3 – 4 pm and will begin at the front steps of the Court House. Bring your sketch pad, chair, artistic eye, and have fun drawing with the assistance of Henry County artists.
Other tasty treats around the square that evening include s’mores courtesy of the Paris Fire Department.The Festival will be followed by DPA’s 11th Annual Holly Jolly Electric Christmas Parade at 5 p.m.
