Marty Stuart To Perform; Photos To Be On Exhibit

Huntingdon, Tenn.–Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives take the stage to a sold out audience at The Dixie Carter in Performing Arts and Academic Enrichment Center in Huntingdon, this Saturday, December 2, as a special stop on his Way Out West tour.
But even if you aren’t one of the lucky ones with tickets to the show, a collection of Stuart’s photographs will be on display at The Dixie through March 30.
In a dazzling performance the way that only Marty can do it, Dixie guests will enjoy a rollicking show that will showcase the eclectic style and extensive talent of the bluegrass,  rockabilly, and country music legend and his 3 piece band.
Stuart’s latest project Way Out West was released March of this year.  It has been billed as a love letter to the American West.  Stuart says that he focused on the loneliness of the West Coast and the spiritual benefits of finding oneself in the vast, open, areas of the region.
A collection of Stuart’s photographs will be on display in The Ballroom Gallery of The Dixie Dec 2, 2017, the day of Marty’s show through March 30, 2018.  The Dixie is honored to house this photo exhibit, including images of Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Hank Williams, Ray Charles, Minnie Pearl, Roy Acuff, and Loretta Lynn, which were not included in Stuart’s book, American Ballads: The Photographs of Marty Stuart, 2014. The Ballroom Gallery is open Monday – Friday 10am – 4 pm and on show days 2 hours prior to show.

The Dixie is excited to welcome Marty back to The Dixie stage as a part of The FirstBank “Dixie Live” Series with supporting sponsorship by Dr. Lee Carter, Huntingdon. Stuart’s photo exhibit was curated by The Arts Company in Nashville.  Artwork provided courtesy of Marty Stuart.
