Murray, Ky.—Several members of the Lakewood Middle School Speech Team placed in competition at the Calloway County High School over the weekend. Lakewood was the only middle school competing against five high schools in the tournament.
The team took 11 students to the contest. Ella Seaton placed second in Dramatic Interpretation and fourth in poetry; Taylor Boase, fourth in Original Oratory and seventh in Impromptu Speaking; Suzie Chau, sixth in Poetry; Skylar Wilson, eighth in Prose.
The team is coached by David Weatherly.
