Benton Co. Sheriff’s Office Begins “Sharing The Bounty” Program

Camden, Tenn.—The Benton County Sheriff’s Office has announced the start of a program called “Sharing The Bounty” in which deer will be processed there and given away free to the community.
Sheriff Kenny Christopher said days that the deer meat will be given away will be announced later. “If you’re aware of families that could use some meat on their table, let us know,” he said.

Deer will be accepted at the sheriff’s office for processing and then to be given away to needy persons. An M87 Escort 20 guage shotgun will be given away at the end of the season.
Deer will be accepted seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the front desk at the sheriff’s office.
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office already has been giving away produce from its inmate gardens and this program is an extension of that.
