UT Advanced Master Beef Producer Classes Set

 
 
Paris, Tenn.–Henry County UT Extension will offer a Multi-County Advanced Master Beef Producer Program starting, Saturday, November 11th.  The Advanced Master Beef Producer Program is an educational program designed to provide information to Tennessee cow-calf producers to help them be the very best in the country, improve their profitability and position the industry to be competitive with other states.
 
The Advanced Master Beef Producer Program will offer five educational sessions, which will begin Saturday, November 11th and conclude Thursday, November 30th. The Advanced Master Beef Producer Program will be led by a team of University of Tennessee Extension agents and specialists.  The cost of the program is $100.  For those producers that are not BQA certified, a certification session will be offered.
 
The Advanced Master Beef Producer Program will offer five educational sessions that focus on cow-calf production and issues facing the beef industry. Producers will be able to interact with trained facilitators and are encouraged to share ideas with other producers.  Producers will be able to enhance the profitability and competitiveness of their operations by having access to essential, technical information.
 
Beef cattle topics being covered during the five sessions are marketing management, forage, nutrition, health, reproduction, genetics, and hot topics.
 
Producers must complete all five sessions in order to receive their Advanced Master Beef Producer certificate.  In addition, those completing the course will receive an Advanced Master Beef Producer cap and a farm sign.  The Advanced Master Beef Producer program, like all UT Extension programs, provides equal opportunity to all persons.
 
In addition, those completing the Advanced Master Beef Producer program will be eligible for increased cost share funds through the Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Ag Enhancement Program.
