Paris Man Arrested On Evading, Drug Charges

Paris, Tenn.—A Paris man was arrested on multiple drug and other charges after allegedly throwing cocaine, marijuana and other drugs out of his car while trying to evade police.

Akito Marguies Hutcherson, age 33, of 303 Jenkins St., was charged with evading police, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, simple possession, and tampering with evidence.

According to the police report, Hutcherson was in the drive-through at McDonald’s and the restaurant called police. Police Sgt. Jamie James arrived and found two open beer bottles in plain sight in cup holders inside the car. Hutcherson left the scene after James had told him to wait while he was checking on Hutcherson’s police record.

James followed Hutcherson to Pocket’s convenience store parking lot and after stopping his vehicle, James ordered Hutcherson to the ground, which Hutcherson refused. James then used a taser on Hutcherson after warning him again, according to the report.

The dash cam in James’ patrol car showed Hutcherson throwing items out of his vehicle and officers found the items along the street.
