Kuttawa, Ky.—Two teenagers were killed—one from Murray and one from Cadiz–and two more teenagers were sent to the hospital following a single-car accident last night on Hwy. 453 (also known as The Trace) in Lyon County.
Robert M. Clayton Jr., age 18, of Murray, Kentucky, was a passenger in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lyon County Coroner. Aaron C. Adams, age 19, of Cadiz, also was a passenger and also pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigation by the Kentucky State Police has shown Kaitlyn Bowers was driving a 2013 Ford Mustang southbound on Highway 453 and, upon entering a left curve, the vehicle exited the roadway and struck a tree. The collision happened around 10 p.m.
Kaitlyn C. Bowers, age 18, of Owensboro, Kentucky was transported by ambulance to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Joseph L. Phillips, age 18, of Lewisburg, Kentucky was a passenger in the vehicle and was transported by ambulance to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The Kentucky State Police were assisted at the scene by Lyon County Sheriff’s Department, Kuttawa Fire Department, Lyon County Fire-Rescue, and Lyon County Ambulance Service.
