Henry, Tenn.–Henry Fire units were dispatched just before midnight to 2040 Lumber Rd. on a report of a chimney fire. Arriving units found a commercial single-level metal shop with heavy smoke and flames.
Investigation determined a wood stove had caught the wood framing of the shop on fire. According to a department spokesperson, the scene was challenging because it was a commercial building with multiple vehicles, tires and high pressure gas cylinders inside.
Firefighters made entry into the steel garage door by use of a saw and started an interior attack on the building. Firefighters were able to save an addition to the shop which included one vehicle.
However, the front half of the shop was a total loss.
Aid was provided by Paris Fire Department and BPU.
WENK/WTPR published an article on the fire early this morning.
