Murray, Ky.—A boil water order was issued by the City of Murray shortly before noon today. The boil water notice takes effect immediately and will be in effect until further notice.
The notice affects all customers of the Murray Water System, including the water districts and customers on 641 south of Murray including Hazel, District 2, and Dexter/Almo districts.
The boil water notice is issued due to the possibility of unsafe water, customers are ordered to immediately begin BOILING WATER for all uses, including drinking, making ice cubes, washing food and brushing teeth.
Water is to be brought to a full rolling boil for at least five minutes to ensure it is safe. Boiled water may be stored at room temperature or in a closed container in the refrigerator.
