Paris, Tenn.—Three women were arrested on multiple charges after a wild high-speed chase that began in Henry County, moved through a small portion of Stewart Co. and then onto Calloway Co., Ky. A Henry County Sheriff’s cruiser was totalled when the deputy attempted to stop the trio.
The chase was initiated early Sunday morning due to suspicion of an aggravated burglary in Tennessee. Deputies in both Henry County and Calloway County used spike strips in attempts to stop their vehicle.
The three are lodged in the Calloway County Detention Center. Two of the women received additional charges after drugs were found hidden on them while being searched inside the Calloway County Jail.
Michelle Robins, age 28, of Martin, is being held on $20,000 bond. She is charged with criminal mischief, fleeing and evading, changing drivers while motor vehicle in motion, three counts of wanton endangerment, disregarding traffic light, failure to wear seatbelt, driving on suspended license, driving with no insurance.
Two passengers in the vehicle also were charged:
Emily Blackard, age 40, of Dresden is being held on $20,000 bond and is charged with fleeing or evading, three counts wanton endangerment, changing drivers, no seatbelt, operating vehicle on suspended license, disregarding stop signs, possession of meth and promoting contraband.
Shanda Bomar, age 33, of Paris, is being held on $10,000 bond, and is being held on possession of meth, promoting contraband and failure to appear.
The chase began around 2:30 a.m. Sunday when Henry County Cpl. Jim Sanders saw the truck they were in speeding on Bull Durham Rd. and attempted to stop it. According to the report, the truck began to accelerate and Sanders followed it into Stewart Co., colliding with it.
The truck then drove back to Henry County on the wrong side of Hwy. 79 and hit the spike strips that had been placed there by Deputy Wayne Fuqua.
According to the report, Robins continued driving the truck with a flat front tire, turning onto Hwy. 119 and into Calloway Co. Robins drove into Murray and was stopped by Calloway Co. deputies and Murray Police.
According to the report from the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stationed at Eldridge Lane and deployed spike strips to deflate the tires.
Calloway Deputies took lead in the pursuit at Old Salem Road and the pursuit continued north on Hwy 121 in to Murray. They traveled north on 4th street to US Hwy 641 and across to Utterback Road, continued to North 16th Street and south on North 16th Street where the vehicle was disabled just south of Utterback Road.
