Paris, Tenn.—Pancake Day is almost here.
The Henry County Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse will be holding its fourth annual Pancake fundraiser for Thursday, November 2nd
Pancakes and sausage will be served from 7am to 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Orr Hall. Tickets are $8 (children under 5 are free) for pre-sale and can be purchased from any board member or from the Carl Perkins Center at 204 N. Brewer St.
Tickets will be $10 at the door the day of the event.
The Center inherited this fundraiser from the Paris Kiwanis who ran it for the many years to raise money to benefit the community. The Kiwanis Club donated their special pancake grill and their “secret” recipe to the Center four years ago. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office now does the honors, cooking the special pancake dinners on the special grill.
County Director, Carly Wheat said, “We are excited to continue this tradition and fundraiser in Henry County for the children impacted by abuse. The Center is blessed to be a part of a community that works hard to continue providing child abuse prevention services to our families. We hope to continue to expand our work with children and those families affected by abuse by continuing prevention services: Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Stewards of Children trainings, Relative Caregiver Program, and Victim Advocacy. All of the services the Center provides are free to victims and their families. The money raised from the Pancake Fundraiser stays in Henry County to ensure the continuance of those needed services. We hope to have a big turnout from the community in supporting a great cause.”
