Buchanan, Tenn.—104 students from Murray Schools are learning about the Civil War era at the Paris Landing State Park Civil War Encampment today. The encampment begins today and runs through Sunday, October 22, with soldier demonstrations, marching, soldier life, nurses tent, Civil War doctor’s tent, blacksmith, doll and candle-making and local historians on site. Saturday is the chilli cook-off, with hay rides, cake walk, ladies tea party, Civil War reenactors. Sunday will include early morning church services with a Civil War chaplain.
