Paris, Tenn.—The Atkins-Porter Historic Neighborhood Association will be all lit up for the Christmas season, with two events planned that will bring plenty of holiday cheer.
The first annual Christmas Lighting Contest will be held, with judging December 15 in four categories, best decorated porch, front yard, house and judges’ favourite. Trophies will be awarded.
The Atkins-Porter Neighborhood will be lit up for the holidays from December 15-January 1 and everyone in the neighbourhood—which stretches from Tyson Street to Veterans Drive to East Wood Street—is encouraged to place some Christmas lighting outside.
The A-P Association is hoping that residents and visitors will make a habit of strolling through the neighbourhood during the holidays to view the festive atmosphere.
The A-P Association met Wednesday night to begin planning for the events. In other business, the membership re-elected officers: President Ed Roberts, Vice President Rachel Terrell, Treasurer Annette Douglas and Secretary Susan Jones.
