Union City, Tenn.—The Obion County Commission voted unanimously to begin the process of purchasing a hot mix plant.
The vote followed a positive report from the County Technical Assistance Service, which conducted a feasibility study of the possibility and determined purchasing its own hot mix plant could be a success for the county.
County Mayor Benny McGuire said the study determined “the more you produce, the cheaper it is”.
The plant would produce hot mix for county use.
