Union City, Tenn.—The 5th annual Aaron Vaughn Memorial Ride will be held October 28 in Union City, hosted by Abernathy’s Harley-Davidson. The ride will begin and end at Abernathy’s.
The event is named for fallen Navy SEAL Aaron Vaughn, who was killed in action August 6, 2011, and large numbers attend each year.
Registration is from 10 a.m. to noon with start at 12:45 p.m. Post-ride music and food. $25 per rider and $35 for rider and passenger.
Vaughn’s mother Karen said all proceeds from the ride go directly to Operation 300, a non-profit organization the family started in the wake of Aaron’s death. Karen said, “Since Aaron left behind two small children, we struggled for a way to give them opportunities they couldn’t have without a father. That’s where the idea of OP 300 began. We host adventure camps for children whose fathers have died while serving our country.”
