Mayfield, Ky.—Two people were seriously injured and third arrested for DUI third offense and assault following a two-vehicle accident Friday night in Graves Co.
The accident occurred at the intersection of KY 58 East and KY 131.
Injured were: Julia Shipp, age 16, of Elizabethtown, and Ruth Heath, age 58, Mayfield, were first transported by the Mayfield/Graves EMS to the Mayfield Airport, where they were then flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Both Shipp and Heath suffered serious injuries, but their conditions are unknown this morning.
According to the Graves Co. Sheriff’s Office, Robin Tucker, age 37, of Mayfield was westbound on KY 58 E in his Dodge truck. Shipp and Heath were stopped at a stop sign in KY 131 when they were struck by Tucker’s vehicle.
Tucker was arrested and charged with two counts of Assault 1st Degree and Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs 3rd Offense Aggravated Circumstance. Tucker may have further charges pending.
The Graves County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Mayfield/Graves County EMS, Mayfield/Graves County Rescue Squad, the Kentucky State Police & Air Evac.
