Union City, Tenn.—A Memphis couple were arrested on charges of possession of heroin and morphine and their car was seized during a traffic stop in Union City over the weekend. Their vehicle also was seized.

Arrested were Mario Jackson, age 32, and Brandi Flynn, age 22. Both were charged with possession of heroin and morphine with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.

They were stopped by Union City Police on West Reelfoot Ave. on a window tint violation. In the course of the stop, officers could smell the strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. According to the police report, Jackson and Flynn acted nervous and said they were on the way to visit a friend, but neither could say what the friend’s name was or what town she lived in. They both said they were using GPS to find her house.

The driver, Brandi Flynn, gave permission for officers to search the car. Officers found loose marijuana all over the front area of the car and noticed that several panels in the back had been removed and replaced. Officers did not find anything in the panels, but searched further in the engine compartment and found a white tube sock wedged in the engine compartment. The sock contained bags which contained pills which tested positive for morphine and bags of power which tested positive for heroin.

The vehicle they were driving was seized and because both said they were unemployed, the cash they had, $46, also was seized since officers said it was used in the commission of selling drugs.
