Union City, Tenn.–Do you love the music of The Beatles? Then, you will not want to miss the kick-off event for The Community Concert Association of Union City/Obion County.

Tribute band BritBeat will perform at the Union City Civic Auditorium Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m.

Corporate sponsors are being sought, with each business receiving a special block of tickets, as well as recognition in the program as a special thank you for their support.

Individual tickets for each show are $20 each and may be purchased in advance at Lanzer Printing and Office Supply in downtown Union City or at the door.

BritBeat was born as a result of a high school vision by Chris Getsla, after being honored on national television by President Bill Clinton at the 1997 State of the Union Address.

Highlights of BritBeat’s touring history include performing with Her-man’s Hermits, The Buckinghams, The Rascals, Jefferson Starship, Micky Dolenz, Blood, Sweat & Tears, The Beach Boys, The Guess Who, The Grass Roots and Gary Puckett and the Union Gap. Additionally, one of the original Beatles — Pete Best, who was the drummer for The Beatles before he was replaced by Ringo Starr in 1962 — actually performed with BritBeat at U.S. Cellular Field for the 40th anniversary of The Beatles at Comiskey Park.

In 2014, BritBeat was chosen by the State of Indiana to recreate the 1964 concert by The Beatles at the Indianapolis State Fair. In the same building, on the same stage, with the same microphones used by the Beatles, BritBeat performed a 50th anniversary concert at the Indianapolis State Fair Coliseum for thousands of fans, many of whom had attended the 1964 concert there 50 years earlier. It was quite a moment for a band paying tribute to their musical icons.

Other shows, which are included in membership, include Chimes for Charity Benefit Concert on Dec. 3 at 2 p.m., Neave Trio on Feb. 17, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. and Tony Pace on March 17, 2018, at 7:30 p.m.
