Paris, Tenn.—Tennessee Valley Community Church’s NextGen Ministry is organizing a 10k fundraiser of which all proceeds will be given to the R.E.A.L. Hope Youth Center. It’s called ‘Runnin’ For REAL Hope’ and will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday and includes a run down Hwy. 79N with police escort and a party for the REAL Hope kids afterward.
Funds raised will go toward Bibles and gifts for the kids at Christmas, faith-based books that the kids can read in the homework room and even take home with them, scholarships for kids to attend R.E.A.L. Hope when the parents are having a rough time financially, sponsoring kids to participate in Heritage Girls and Trail Life Boys, sponsorships for boys to attend Covenant Ranch’s summer camp, and other such efforts.
There are 2 ways to get involved:
1) Sign up to walk, run, (or crawl), with our NextGen Ministry and other participants by paying a $25 dollar entry fee which includes a t-shirt and meal afterwards.
2) Sponsor our group and make a per-kilometer donation, or if you don’t like math, just make a donation. We will do it by the honor system, so just text or email the contacts below, or click “Going” on this page. We will have registration starting at 1:00 P.M. at Covenant Ranch for participants and donors, so the $25 for entry or donation can be paid there.
For more info on how to be involved contact Nathan Hart at 731-336-3516 or by email at nathanbhart@gmail.com, or Jessica St. John at 731-363-2717.
Participants will be shuttled by bus to the TVCC parking lot from Covenant Ranch, and the 10k will start at the TVCC parking lot and will have a police escort down the lake highway, ending back at Covenant Ranch, where we will present the check, hang out with the kids and their families, and eat dinner. There will be a rock wall, inflatable jumper, ping pong tables, and pool tables so that R.E.A.L. Hope kids and participants can hang out and have fun together. This is a great opportunity for us to come together behind an important piece of our community to raise these funds, impacting the kids lives with the aforementioned things the proceeds will be spent on. It will also be a great example of the Gospel as our community comes together with love and fellowship.
