Rash Of Yard Equipment Thefts Investigated

Union City, Tenn.—Union City Police are investigating a rash of thefts of expensive mowing equipment from local residents. All of the thefts were reported on Friday. In one case, the thieves also took the trailer on which the equipment was stored.
 
At Kris Lynsdale Dr., the resident reported he had left equipment on his trailer after he had completed mowing and placed his equipment on a trailer at his house. He said he uses metal rods to secure the equipment and the rods were on the ground. Stolen were two Stihl weedeaters and a Stihl edger.
 
On Julie Street, a resident reported several pieces of equipment along with his trailer. The trailer had been attached to his Ford truck. Stolen was a black 14 inch trailer, a John Deere 757 zero turn mower with 61 inch deck and a black and yellow 44 inch zero turn Cub Cadet.
 
Stolen from a Macon Drive resident were two Stihl weedeaters, an Echo weed eater, a Stihl hedge trimmer and a Red Max backpack blower. They had been stored on a trailer on the side of the house.
 
Stolen from a Wedgewood St. resident were two weedeaters and two backup blowers and one edger. All were Echo and Stihl brands.
