Huge Crowd For Elvis, Boss Hoss And More

By Shannon McFarlin WENK/WTPR News Director
Paris, Tenn.—A huge crowd was on hand for today’s Noon on the Square, which featured the annual Boss Hoss parade through town, local Elvis impersonator Riley Jenkins and the “Tooth Throbs” band headed by Dentist Jeff Fletcher and which included several back up singers. Elvis’ arrival was greeted with the theme from “2001: A Space Odyssey”.

Over 200 Boss Hoss cycles and their owners are signed up for their annual festivities at Paris Landing State Park. Boss Hoss spokeswoman Kelly Bowser of Dyersburg said the number in attendance is slightly down from last year because several from the hurricane zones in Florida and Texas did not make the trip here this year. She did say that a few Boss Hoss owners from Japan are here this year.
“Elvis” performed several of his standards, including “Burning Love” and “I Can’t Stop Loving You” and was presented with the ‘keys to the city’ by Henry County Circuit Court Clerk Mike Wilson.
