Fulton County, Ky.—A Hickman police officer who was arrested on charges of impersonating a police officer in McCracken County resigned just before a special Hickman City Commission meeting that had been called to discuss his future with the city.
James Blakney of Mayfield had already been suspended without pay August 18 after the Kentucky State Police arrested him in Mayfield for failure to appear. The KSP had reported that Blakney was charged in February with forgery and impersonation by the Paducah Police Department. That arrest came before Blakney had officially become a police officer in Hickman.
