TVA Considers 30-Year Easement For Cane Creek Dock

Houston County, Tenn.—The Tennessee Valley Authority is considering granting a 30-year recreation easement over 21.44 acres at Cane Creek Boat Dock to McBird Enterprises.
The boat dock fell into disrepair following the death of its previous owner. Currently, boaters who use that portion of Kentucky Lake have to travel to marinas in Stewart or Humphreys Co.
Cane Creek Boat Dock is on the Tennessee River in Houston County.  McBird Enterprises, LLC. (operator) was selected as the operator for Cane Creek Boat Dock through the Request for Proposal process. The requested easement would grant long-term land rights to the operator for the use of TVA property and would allow the operator to re-open the campground.
TVA is interested in receiving comments regarding the action’s potential to affect the environment or historic properties, and to identify any other issues associated with this request. Any comments received, including names and addresses, will become part of the administrative record and will be available for public inspection. All written comments on this proposed action must be received on or before September 21, 2017. Written comments may be mailed to the address below or e-mailed to lmwhite@tva.gov.
