Lawler, Ware Entertain At Obion County Fair

Union City, Tenn.—As expected, a large crowd was on hand for Wednesday night’s Championship Wrestling event at the Obion County Fair, with Jerry “The King” Lawler, Koko B Ware of Union City and other wrestling legends.
Fair Vice President Blake Laws said, “We had a real good crowd. Koko got everybody all fired up.”
Crowds have been good during the run of the fair this year and are expected to be bigger as the week progresses, he said. “We’ve got real nice weather for the rest of the fair—a lot cooler.”
Winner of the $1,000 drawing Wednesday night was Ronie Yeardin of Greenfield. Winner of the Pick Tennessee basket was Landry Faulkner.
Today is Senior Citizens Day at the fair, with free admission for people 55 and older.
Today’s schedule:
10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Senior Citizens Day
10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Viewing of exhibits
5 p.m. Show-Me-Safari
5 p.m. Junior and Open Swine Show
6 p.m. Carnival Opens (Pay One Price $10)
7 p.m. Ranch Rodeo
7 p.m. Youth Musical and Avonlea concert
10 pm $1000 Nightly drawing
