Union City, Tenn.—A Union City woman was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center after she was extricated from her vehicle following an accident Tuesday afternoon.
Bridgette Darnall, age 51, was first transported to Baptist Memorial and then airlifted to Vanderbilt.
According to Sgt. Chris Richardson of the Memphis district of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the accident occurred during the rainstorm around 2:45 p.m. on U.S. 51.
Darnall lost control of her vehicle, traveling off the right edge of the roadway, rotating clockwise. Her vehicle then overturned at least one time, coming to rest on the driver’s side.
She was trapped in her vehicle as a result of the crash. Sgt. Richardson said she was extricated by the team work of the Obion County Rescue Squad, Buddy’s Wrecker Service, Obion County Sheriff’s deputies and other first responders at the scene.
