McKenzie, Tenn.—Frank Tate, Executive Director of the McKenzie Industrial Development Board, told the Carroll County Commissioners and members of the Industrial Board that he is working with two industrial prospects, both of whom are interested in locating at the industrial park near the Carroll County Airport.
Tate said the two projects could bring 500 new jobs to the county and local area over a period of years.
Tate told the commission and board members that the proactive communities are the ones which land industrial prospects. He began working as McKenzie’s industrial recruiter in March and came from a similar position in Kentucky.
He said representatives from the two prospects were in McKenzie in June and negotiations have continued with the companies since their initial visits.
Carroll County Mayor Kenny McBride said the county is in support of the projects.
Carroll County in June landed Campbell Arms Manufacturing, which announced it is locating in Carroll County following its initial visit with the McKenzie IDB in March.
