Murray, Ky.—Murray Independent School District schools are the latest to cancel school Monday.
According to a Facebook post from the school, due to management issues that involve student safety and transportation, the Murray Independent School District will not be in session Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, due to issues involving the solar eclipse.
Students will be given their eclipse glasses on Friday to take home with them to watch the eclipse on Monday at home.
Superintendent Coy Samons said the day will be made up at a later date and apologized for the late notice.
“The number one priority of our district is the safety of our students,” he said.
