Paris, Tenn.–Through McDonald’s Archways to Opportunity program, Paris McDonald’s employee Megan Tozzi is receiving a $2,500 scholarship to attend Suffolk University in Boston this fall. The Henry County High School graduate is one of 51 students nationwide to receive the award in 2017, and is the only recipient from Tennessee.
Archways to Opportunity awards scholarship money to a select group of students who work in McDonald’s brand restaurants. Winners are selected based upon their academic achievements, community involvement and job performance. An independent panel of educators reviews all completed applications and selects winners. Tozzi has worked at the location on 1019 Mineral Wells in Paris since March of 2015, earning high accolades from her superiors, including local Owner/Operator Kristine Kenworthy.
“We are so proud of Megan. She works hard in school and here at McDonald’s,” Kenworthy said. “She is always friendly, willing to work and gives great customer service. Although Megan will be in Boston at school this fall, she will remain a crew member here in Paris and will be able to work during her Christmas and summer breaks.” McDonald’s Archways to Opportunity offers multiple programs to help corporate and franchise employees learn and grow. Programs include helping complete high school, earn an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or even learn English.
