Union City, Tenn.—A Union City man was arrested Saturday night after he was found in possession of Ecstasy pills.
Union City Police saw another man who was wanted on active warrants standing in front of East Gate housing complex around 8 p.m. and as they approached, they smelled a strong odor of marijuana on Keontre Murrell, age 23, of 509 Nash St.
Officers conducted a probable cause search and felt contraband inside the rear of his shorts. The found a pill bottle containing 14 pills wrapped up inside a black plastic bag. The pills field tested positive for Ecstasy.
Officers also found $101 on Murrell. Because he was in possession of a felony amount of drugs which they believed were packaged for resale and because Murrell is unemployed, police said they believed the $101 came from drug proceeds and it was seized.
