Camden, Tenn.—Benton Co. Schools announced late Monday afternoon that the system will be closed Monday, August 21, due to a mix up with the glasses that it received for the Solar Eclipse.
The district was notified today that a large portion of the glasses purchased for students and staff have been recalled and there is not enough time to order additional glasses.
Director of Schools Mark Florence announced on Facebook that the district apologizes for the short notice “but we feel like this is the best decision for the safety of our students and staff.”
