Three Apprehended After Liquor Store Robbery; Two At Large

Huntingdon, Tenn.—Three men who robbed a liquor store in Bruceton at 6:15 a.m. today were caught in Huntingdon and two more are still at large. The suspects were able to take the safe from the store along with lottery tickets, but the van they were in is in the custody of law enforcement at this time.
Huntingdon Director of Public Safety Walter Smothers said the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office received a call that the store in Bruceton was being broken into. Deputies then chased the suspects into Huntingdon.

According to Smothers, the suspects rammed a deputy’s car and he struck their vehicle causing the suspects to spin out on East Main Street. The five suspects then fled from the vehicle.
Huntingdon officers and county deputies pursued them on foot and caught three of them, Smothers said, noting that from his information none of the three were armed at the time of their arrest.
The two subjects at large are believed to be on foot. They are described as black males, one wearing black shorts and a white polo shirt and the other wearing blue jeans and a loud colored shirt, Smothers said. It is believed that they are from Memphis.
The vehicle they were in had a temporary tag from a dealership in Memphis.
