Plus Endowment Honored For Achievements

Plus Endowment Paris, Tenn.—At a ceremony Thursday morning, Henry County Mayor Brent Greer and Paris Mayor Carlton Gerrell proclaimed August as Plus Endowment Month in recognition of its “significant achievement” for the county. The joint proclamation notes that Plus Endowment was established 18 years ago and in that time has awarded over $227,000 to teachers in the county and city school systems for their innovative projects.
 
The main source of Plus Endowment funds is from payroll deductions from teachers and staff in the two school systems, annual donations and contributions in honor or memory of special people, Helping Hand, the Friends of the Wildlife Refuge and contributions from various service groups.
 
Also on hand for this morning’s presentation were board members, Paris Special Schools District Director Dr. Norma Gerrell and Henry County Schools Director Dr. Brian Norton.
 
Members of the Plus Endowment board are Brenda Evans, Vicki Boyd, Stephanie Dunagan, Monte Belew, Patsy Blount, Steve Blount, Susan Hayes, Rita Paschall, Randall Perkins, Brother Randy Stephens, Marie Berryman, Andy Clark and Scarlet Orr.
 
Newly-elected officers are President Steve Blount, Vice President Randall Perkins; Treasurer Scarlet Orr; and Secretary Marie Berryman.
