Vet Unite To Appear At Oakland Community Center

Paris, Tenn.—The Oakland Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting Vet Unite and Task Force Vet Visits at 6 p.m. Friday, August 4, at the Oakland Community Center, 4435 Highway 69S, Paris.
These two organization have identified two points lacking in the veteran community and Vet Unite centers on connecting vets to available resources, how to contact these resources and help, with the help of fellow veterans, in applying for and receiving these benefits.
Task Force Vet Visits focuses on vets who may feel as though no one is out there for them; that they are essentially alone. Task Force Vet Visits, a Project of VetUnite.org, will begin a cross-country trek to visit Veterans across the country in hopes of raising awareness
On August 2nd, the group will begin its trek from Bellingham, MA, with visits in Allentown, PA, Shepherdsville, KY, Bowling Green, KY before stopping in Paris, to meet up with a group of veterans in our area. There are 24 visits lined up for the 18 day journey.
The visits include Veterans, Veteran Advocates and Gold Star Family members. The group encourages any Veteran, Veteran Advocate, Gold or Blue Star families to join them.
