Paris, Tenn.—Two Paris men were arrested on multiple drug charges and the driver arrested for evading following an incident Sunday afternoon.
Driver Laquan D. McFerren, age 23, of 502 Lankford Rd., was charged with possession of Schedule 1, Schedule II and Schedule IV substances with intent to sell, driving on a revoked license, and with evading arrest. Passenger Shontel M. Thompson, age 20, of 1106 Travis St., was charged with possession of Schedule I, II and IV substances with intent to sell.
According to the report, Sheriff’s Sgt. Terry Williams observed them driving on Fairgrounds Rd. and followed as they turned into the Paris Inns and Suites parking lot on E. Wood. According to the report, the car increased speed and began circling the building before Williams stopped the vehicle.
Some $1,200 in cash was seized. Bond for McFerren was set at $25,000 and bond for Thompson was set at $15,000.
