Paris, Tenn.—A Paris man was arrested by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office following a shoot-out on Elkhorn Rd.
Mark Fisher, age 42, of 2640 Perkins Rd., was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, resisting arrest and possession with intent to sell. In addition, $1,503 in what is believed to be drug proceeds was seized.
Deputy Dalton Watson was called to the 7000 block of Elkhorn Rd. late Wednesday night on a report that a female had been shot. The female told Watson that she really wasn’t shot, but that she had fallen. According to the report, the female further said she and Fisher were driving along Elkhorn Rd. when their neighbor pulled up beside them in a white Caprice and began shooting at them.
She said Fisher used her handgun to shoot back. Fisher told Watson he had issues with the neighbor earlier and that he returned fire when the neighbor shot at them.
A check determined that Fisher was a convicted felon and when Watson attempted to place him under arrest, he resisted. According to the report, Fisher would not turn around and said he would not ride in the back of a police car. Deputy Chad Lowery advised Fisher twice to comply and Fisher reportedly refused, at which point Lowery used the taser on him and Fisher was placed under arrest.
Watson said he could smell marijuana coming from the truck. Deputies found marijuana in several raccuum sealed bags and in a Whitman’s Chocolate box, a pipe and a grinder. In all 101 grams of marijuana was found.
